In Pigeon Falls 110 Years Ago

Recently I gained access to a couple old postcards from Pigeon Falls, Wisconsin. I am sharing them with the idea that our readers not only might appreciate them, but with the hope that someone can add a bit of information about them.

The first photo/postcard comes from 1908 and features, as the card indicates, L. Knudson’s Store and Blacksmith Shop.

The second photo/postcard is dated 1909 and features the Steig-Jacobson General Store. Steig is one of the early names in Pigeon Township and, if I recall correctly, someone in the Borreson-Estenson family married a Steig in the second half of the 19th century.

I can imagine that an examination of these surnames in the 1910 census contribution a bit more information.
