Bennie Borreson, the fifth child of Emil and Gina, was married to Mavis Nelson, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oluf Nelson of Pigeon Falls, on Friday, May 25, 1951, in Hayward, Wisconsin. The presiding minister was Bennie’s brother, The Rev. Gilbert Borreson.
The bride wore a tan gabardine suit with white accessories and a corsage of white roses. She was attended by Miss Helen Nerby of Blair. Oliver Johnson of Pigeon Falls was the best man. Marcia Borreson played the bridal march on the organ, and Naomi Borreson sang “O Perfect Love.”
Members of the immediate families attended the wedding which was followed by the reception at the home of Gilbert and Estelle Borreson in Hayward. The centerpiece for the bride’s table was a wedding cake flanked by pink candles.
The bridal couple would be living on Bennie’s farm near Blair. (Thanks, Carol, for sending the photo of your parents.)
