A few photos mailed me by our cousin Carol are definitely on the light side. As I have come to understand too late, it’s not surprising that such photos would include her father Bennie. I remember learning of his ski jumping antics, for example. Enjoy these pictures!
Climbing the ladder set against the farmhouse in April 1927 are (from the top): Bennie, Clara, Mabel, and Clifford Anderson. What they had in their heads we can only guess! (Maybe Bennie was practicing heights for his ski jumping.)
Here’s Bennie again, this time with Milton Hallingstad at the Black River Falls fair on a September Sunday in 1939. Looking dapper, fellas! Pretty fancy for the fair! (These two were the same age and, I would guess, good friends.)
And the last is Bennie trying his balancing skills on a bicycle in 1946. Well, what’s a fellow to do when it’s summertime and no snow for ski jumping!
